BED:SAFE B.A.N.D scheme has been introduced to combat persistent levels of violence and disorder. It is designed to target offenders committing serious offences with the specific aims to:

1. Reduce alcohol related crime, violence, disorder and anti-social behaviour in the Town Centre.
2. Eradicating the use and supply of drugs within licensed premises in the Town Centre.
3. Reducing the incidence of underage drinking in the Town Centre.

The scheme has been established by the North Bedfordshire Community Safety Partnership and is an integral part of the BED:SAFE initiatitive, which has already established close links with the licensees and door supervisors and funded the Nite Net Radio System.
